Which Wildwood line is the right one for me and the way I camp? A question often overheard and there
is some confusion. In this blog article we will clear up what each line is, how they are built and
which one is best for who. The brand Wildwood by Forest River now has a total of five sub brands.
There is the traditional Wildwood stick and tin line. The Wildwood FSX which is a smaller and lighter
stick and tin line. The last stick and tin in the Wildwood line up is the Wildwood X Lite which sits
between the Wildwood and Wildwood FSX line. The last two lines are the Wildwood Heritage Glen and
the Wildwood Heritage Glen Hyper Lyte. No matter the Forest River Wildwood Line that you choose
there really is no wrong one. They are all very well built and have great parts and warranty coverage
behind them. They do however have different uses. In this article we will look at the Wildwood Stick
and Tin lines. Stick and Tin are industry terms that represent campers that are built in a traditional way
like your home. Wood studded walls, fiberglass insulation and wood roof trusses. All three of
Wildwood’s stick and tin lines also have full, seamless rubber roofs. Let’s go look at all three now-
WILDWOOD
Let’s start with the original Wildwood travel trailer (camper) by Forest River. This line has been around
so long that it is one of the Original lines at Forest River when it started. First thing we will cover is how
they are built.

One of the most amazing features of the Wildwood is the new Ameri-Kart Accessibelly
Underbelly. Simply put there are now panels that can be quickly removed for repairs.

The main thing to know about Wildwood is it is a traditional build, basically like you would build your
home. Very durable studding in the wall, fiberglass insulation to make sure you camper is warm in the
winter and cool in the summer. Interior wall panels and exterior durable aluminum siding to keep your
unit water tight. The roof is a series of wood roof trusses again, very durable with plywood one top to
bring it all together. Finally, covered with an Alpha Systems rubber membrane roof. Not only is this a

The last main system we are going to talk about today are the slide out systems. Wildwood uses a
variety of slide out systems, but the most commonly used system is the through frame hydraulic system.

designed to be a lighter weight version of the original Wildwood line giving folks with smaller tow

Just like it’s older and bigger brother the Wildwood, the Wildwood X Lite is traditional
building techniques. Wood studded walls with fiberglass insulation. Again, you have
wood trusses in the roof and plywood. The roof is again a rubber roof by Alpha

the weight.

Like its older brothers the Wildwood and the Wildwood X Lite, the Wildwood FSX is more of a traditional
build. It uses wood wall supports, fiberglass insulation. Wood roof trusses and a rubber roof. Of course
the floor plans are smaller and the units are the lightest of the Wildwood lines.
